To advance in the tournament, the Revs will have to take down another MLS original.

Less than 24 hours after routing the Rochester Rhinos, 3-0, the Revolution have a new U.S. Open Cup opponent: D.C. United. The Round of 16 match will take place on June 28 at Harvard University’s Jordan Field.

D.C. United advanced past the fourth round with a 4-1 win over Christos FC, the liquor store-sponsored amateur club from Baltimore.

To advance past the Round of 16, the Black and Red will have to beat the Revs on the road—something he club has never done in Open Cup play. The only time the two sides met in New England, the Revolution claimed a 2-0 win at Foxboro Stadium (Aug. 22, 2001).

If D.C. doesn’t earn a road win, the Revs will host a Quarterfinal match against either the Philadelphia Union or New York Red Bulls (location and date to be determined).

Tickets for the Revolution-D.C. United match will cost $15 and will go on sale exclusively through revolutionsoccer.net on Monday, June 19.
