Allysha Chapman and Adriana Leon have both been called up to Canada’s 19-player roster for upcoming friendlies against Costa Rica. Canada will play Costa Rica on June 8 and June 11 in Winnipeg and Toronto respectively.

GOALKEEPERS (3): Stephanie Labbé (Washington Spirit), Sabrina D’Angelo (North Carolina Courage), Kailen Sheridan (Sky Blue FC)

DEFENDERS (6): Lindsay Agnew (Washington Spirit), Allysha Chapman (Boston Breakers), Ashley Lawrence (Paris St-German), Shannon Woeller (FF USV Jena), Kadeisha Buchanan (Olympique Lyonnais), Shelina Zadorsky (Washington Spirit)

MIDFIELDERS (4): Jessie Fleimng (UCLA), Rebecca Quinn (Duke), Sophie Schmidt (FFC Frankfurt), Desiree Scott (FC Kansas City)

FORWARDS (6): Nichelle Prince (Houston Dash), Deanne Rose (Scarborough GS United), Adriana Leon (Boston Breakers), Jordyn Huitema (Whitecaps FC Girls Elite), Janine Beckie (Houston Dash), Christine Sinclair (Portland Thorns)

Leon should still be available for Boston’s June 3 away game against Orlando, but Chapman will be out, serving a one-game suspension for picking up a red card against the Portland Thorns.

Although Chapman is a defensive mainstay with the CanWNT at the moment, this continues Leon’s path to working her way back into the team. John Herdman declined to call her up for over a year, but is now taking a second look as she returns to NWSL.

Game one of Canada vs Costa Rica kicks off at 8:30 PM ET on Thursday, June 8 and will air live on TSN.
