Gershon Koffie will soon be back with the New England Revolution, as the he’s expected to train at Gillette Stadium tomorrow, according to team senior staff writer Jeff Lemieux.

Koffie, 25, was reacquired by the Revs just before the close of the primary transfer window via a loan deal with Hammarby IF of Sweden. The midfielder was with New England last season, making 19 appearances. Koffie didn’t re-sign with the club when his contract expired and instead explored options in Europe.

The decision hasn’t panned out for Koffie, who has only made one league appearance with Hammarby. Koffie will now return to familiar grounds as he searches for consistent playing time. Upon his arrival, he will be competing against the likes of Xavier Kouassi, Scott Caldwell, and Je-Vaughn Watson.

Although he hasn’t been away long, there will be a bit of change for Koffie, who will be sporting a new number. With rookie Brian Wright now wearing 7, Koffie will have 5 on the back of his jersey.
