How would you deploy Gershon Koffie in his return to the Revolution?

When Gershon Koffie joined the Revolution ahead of the 2016 season, most supporters expected him to go “one-and-done” and move to Europe over the winter. So when Koffie signed with Hammarby IF of Sweden’s Allsvenskan in January, almost no one batted an eye.

But now he’s back. On loan from Hammarby though the end of the season, Koffie will join a team that already boasts a pair of defensive midfielders in Scott Caldwell and Xavier Kouassi, as well as three attacking midfielders—Lee Nguyen, Diego Fagundez and Kelyn Rowe—who have all played well enough to earn consistent starts.

Koffie, in 22 appearances last season, also proved worthy of regular starts.

So where does the Ghanaian midfielder fit in? Should he slot back into the lineup as a second holding midfielder with the freedom to push forward? Or should he feature as a second-half substitute capable of adding bite to the Revolution midfield?
