Now that we’re six games into the 2017 season, it’s become easier to predict the New England Revolution’s starting lineup. We expect to see Cody Cropper standing between the sticks, Lee Nguyen roaming the midfield, and Kei Kamara looking for goals.
One position that’s a bit more uncertain is that of left back.
Chris Tierney entered the season as the starter but has apparently fallen out of favor, as head coach Jay Heaps has looked to Keyln Rowe and Je-Vaughn Watson in recent weeks. Rowe’s first-ever appearance at left back resulted in a 2-0 win over the Houston Dynamo while Watson received an early red card while playing against the Chicago Fire.
Wednesday will provide another hint as to what Heaps is thinking, as the Revs will welcome the San Jose Earthquakes. Will the coach give the nod to Tierney or Rowe? Is it possible that we see someone else? Perhaps Donnie Smith?
