Allysha Chapman and Adriana Leon called up for Canada

Boston Breakers players Allysha Chapman and Adriana Leon have both been named to the CanWNT squad for their upcoming away friendlies against Sweden and Germany. That makes it a matchup between the 2016 Olympic bronze, silver, and gold medalists.

This is especially encouraging for Leon, who hasn’t been rostered for Canada since the 2015 World Cup. At the time of her signing, head coach Matt Beard said, “Adriana is keen to come back to Boston and prove herself back in the NWSL and also to get back into the Canadian Women’s National Team.” It seems Canadian head coach John Herdman has decided to take another look at Leon after nearly two years away, working on herself during a stint with FC Zurich Frauen in Switzerland.

Canada will play Sweden on April 6 in Trelleborg, then Germany on April 9 in Erfurt.
