The US Men’s National Team thrashed Honduras 6-0 on Friday night during a critical World Cup Qualifier. Clint Dempsey lead the way with a hat trick scored in the span of 22 minutes. Sebastian Lletget, Michael Bradley, and Christian Pulisic also got on the score sheet with solo tallies.
It was an exciting night for USMNT fans, who saw their team rise to fourth place in the Hexagonal. While the goals were a pleasant sight, they might have been one-upped by the creature living on Matt Reis’ upper lip.
You see, the former New England Revolution goalkeeper and current USMNT assistant coach was sporting an impressive mustache on Friday and Twitter couldn’t help but comment on it. Here are the best of the bunch:
Ok 6-0 is impressive. Dempsey and Pulisic impressive. But that @MatthewJReis stache just stole the show! Well played sir. #USMNT #USAvHON pic.twitter.com/WW5iotKvUi

That mustache+soulpatch combo can only mean Bruce hired Matt Reis' evil twin. #USAvSRB #USMNT

As you can imagine, Reis joined in on the banter, giving a perfectly reasonable explanation for the new look.
@CathalConlon nothing says authority like a great stash #usmnt
