When LAFC goes shopping during Tuesday’s expansion draft, the team won’t have many options from the Revolution’s list of eligible players. On Sunday, Brad Friedel’s club protected 11, including defender Andrew Farrell and forward Teal Bunbury. Neither player has signed a contract for the 2018 season.
Because Homegrown Players Scott Caldwell and Zachary Herivaux are exempt from selection under MLS rules, the Revolution will head into the draft with 13 safe players on its roster.
Defender Chris Tierney, who has played in Foxboro since his rookie season in 2008, tops the list of draft-eligible Revolution players. The Revs picked up Tierney’s option two weeks ago after the defender played 1,700 minutes in 2017, the third-lowest total of his career.
The expansion draft kicks off on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. ET.
