They didn’t say outright it was a TV deal, but it’s a TV deal.

Rumors started floating around the NSCAA convention in Los Angeles that NWSL had managed to finally strike a TV deal heading into their fifth season. Words like “unconventional” and “surprising” were thrown around to describe the network involved. Now NWSL is announcing they will hold a press conference in conjunction with A+E Networks (they scuttled the ampersand, apparently - gotta keep up with the hip modern logos) to be held on Thursday, February 2 at 10 AM ET at A+E headquarters in New York City.

Via league press release, NWSL commissioner Jeff Plush, A+E Networks president/CEO Nancy Dubuc, and USSF president Sunil Gulati will be in attendance.

Seven players will also be present: Rose Lavelle (Boston Breakers), Stephanie McCaffrey (Chicago Red Stars), Kristie Mewis (Washington Spirit), Samantha Mewis (North Carolina Courage), Alyssa Naeher (Chicago Red Stars), Christie Rampone (Sky Blue FC), and Lynn Williams (North Carolina Courage).

A+E owns several channels including Lifetime, A&E, and History.
