The New England Revolution will host the Chicago Fire at Gillette Stadium on August 9 in the semifinals of the 2016 U.S. Open Cup. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.

The Revs reached the semifinals after recording victories over the Carolina Railhawks (NASL), New York Cosmos (NASL), and Philadelphia Union. The most recent match went to penalties, with the Revs ultimately winning the shootout 4-2.

The Chicago Fire advanced after collecting wins over Indy Eleven (NASL), Columbus Crew SC, and the Fort Lauderdale Strikers (NASL). The Fire ousted the last lower-division team on Wednesday, defeating the Strikers 3-0.

Both the Revs and Fire have had success in past Open Cups. The Revs captured the title in 2007 while the Fire have hoisted the trophy on four occasions (1998, 2000, 2003, and 2006).

Tickets for the seminal match start at $29 and will go on sale to the public at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23. It's worth noting that the game will be included in the season ticket holders' packages as their special event.
