On Friday, the New England Revolution signed 13 athletes from Special Olympics Massachusetts. The group will represent the Revolution on Wednesday in a Unified match against representatives from New York City FC. The game will take place at Gillette Stadium with kickoff set for 4:30.
After signing their contracts in a ceremony with head coach Jay Heaps, the athletes received their jerseys and attended practice. Here, they met their new teammates, including Andrew Farrell, who helped coach last year's Unified team.
Those interested in supporting the Revolution's newest players are encouraged to enter the stadium early as the game will precede the Revs-NYCFC match set to begin at 7:30. The Patriot Place gate will open at 3:45PM.
This is the first of two games scheduled for the Revs Unified squad, as they will also travel to Red Bull Arena on Sunday, August 28 to face a team from Special Olympics New Jersey.
