A week removed from a 1-0 win over the Carolina RailHawks, the Revolution face the New York Cosmos (NASL) for a round of 16 match in the 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The two clubs have never met before.
The Cosmos, fresh off a 1-0 win over NYCFC, represent one of just two lower division teams left in the tournament. To advance, the Cosmos will have to defeat a Revolution side that holds a 16-13-4 all-time record in Open Cup play, despite falling in the fourth round of last year's tournament to the Charlotte Independence (USL). The Revs have amassed a 11-4-4 all-time record against lower division clubs.
Tonight, Jay Heaps' side will look to build on last week's Zach Herivaux game-winner, a match that went 102 minutes without a goal.Game Details:
