Messi and Argentina are coming to Gillette Stadium

The Copa America quarterfinal match at Gillette Stadium will be Argentina vs. Venezuela.

Locals will have the opportunity to see two big-name South American countries face off as Argentina and Venezuela are set to visit Gillette Stadium on Saturday for a Copa America quarterfinal match.

Argentina finished top of Group D after recording wins over Chile (2-1), Panama (5-0), and Bolivia (3-0). La Albiceleste have simply been reaffirming their status as tournament favorites with these results.

Venezuela qualified for the knockout stage with a 2-1-0 record in Group C. Consecutive 1-0 wins over Jamaica and Uruguay were followed by a 1-1 tie with Mexico. Venezuela ultimately finished second in their group.

The biggest storyline heading into Saturday's game is the status of Lionel Messi. The superstar attacker has only been used as a substitute thus far, making second-half appearance against both Panama and Bolivia. His performance against Panama was particularly noteworthy since he scored a hat-trick in just 19 minutes. Will Messi play at Gillette Stadiums? Fans certainly hope so.
