Kei Kamara ready to make Revolution debut against the Fire

Kei Kamara talks about the possibility of playing this Saturday.

Kei Kamara arrived at Gillette Stadium on Friday after a deadline day trade. One day later, he could make his New England Revolution debut.

During his introductory press conference, Kamara said he wasn't sure about his status ahead of Saturday's game against the Chicago Fire. He did say, however, he'd be ready if called upon.

"I played the game last weekend," Kamara said. "I’m here. I’m ready to go. It’s not that I have a knock or an injury or anything."

Kamara is currently on a hot streak that includes four goals in the last four games. Last week he had two tallies against the Montreal Impact in his final game with Columbus Crew SC. In total, the forward has five goals this season.

Kamara trained with his new team on Friday as they prepared to face the Fire. Head coach Jay Heaps will now have to decide if he wants to start his new Designated Player, use him as a late-game substitute, or save him for next week.

"If my name is called tomorrow and [Heaps] tells me later that he’s ready to use me from minute one, I’ll be ready," Kamara explained. "Or, if he says I’m going to bring you on, I’m going to be ready."
