Ryan Guy played almost every position while with the New England Revolution from 2011-2013. Now the jack-of-all-trades is trying his hand at a new role: head coach of NPSL side the NC Battalion.

On Thursday, Guy was named as the successor of former head coach Giovanni Vlahos, who resigned on Feb. 28, 2016. This won't be Guy's first foray into coaching as he previously led the San Diego Surf, a regional youth club. He helped the Surf BU11 Academy Select Team win the Cal South State Cup in February.

Guy's professional playing career began in 2007 when he signed with St Patrick's Athletic of Ireland. After scoring 24 goals in 114 appearances, Guy returned stateside, signing with the Revolution. He would later play for the San Diego Flash (NPSL), San Antonio Scorpions (NASL), and Tuen Mun SA (Hong Kong). Throughout this time, he was a regular for the Guam National Team.

Established in 2015, this will the Battalion's first season in NPSL. They will start their maiden voyage on Apr. 2 when they travel to face SoCal SC. Kickoff is set for 6 pm local time.
