It was a disaster half for the New England Revolution on Sunday, who entered the locker room with a 2-0 deficit against the Philadelphia Union. There weren't a lot of positives for the Revs during the first 45, save for Bobby Shuttleworth's clutch penalty stop and Lee Nguyen's free kick. In both instances, the ball failed to hit wrinkle the net.
The free kick was particularly interesting as Nguyen hit both posts from 25 yards out. The ball first hit the left post then the right before landing safely in Andre Blake's hands. It was a play that defied physics.

Nguyen, who was recently called up to the US Men's National Team, had a similar moment of frustration last weekend when his free kick pinged the crossbar. Both chances were inches away from beating the goalkeeper.
Heading into Sunday's game, Nguyen led the team with six shots but hadn't gotten onto the scoresheet yet.
