The New England Revolution are scheduled to face Syracuse University at 9 a.m. on Apr. 2, according to Syracuse press release.
The game is one of three that will feature the Orange squaring off against a professional American side. Before traveling to Gillette Stadium, Syracuse will face the Bethlehem Steel on Mar. 6 and the Rochester Rhinos on Mar. 26. Syracuse is also scheduled to face Vaughn FC (Apr. 9), Colgate (Apr. 17), and Herkimer (Apr. 23).
The details about the Syracuse game are currently scarce. The first team will host the New York Red Bulls on Friday, which likely means that the squad that faces Syracuse will be primarily comprised of reserves. Another option could be the Revolution's unaffiliated U-23 team. The organization has decided to create a U-23 team in light of the news that the Boston Rams won't field a PDL team in 2016.
Syracuse performed well last year, posting a 16-5-4 record and earning their first ACC Championship. Former Revolution Academy players Danny Apajee and Austin Aviza currently play for Syracuse.
