Jermaine Jones Takes To Social Media, Again

Jermaine Jones has not hidden the fact that he's upset with the New England Revolution over his current contract situation.

Jones believes the team has low-balled him on a new offer after his initial 18-month deal expired at the end of 2015. So Jones took to social media again to express his displeasure.

The now since deleted Instagram post details Jones impact on the field with New England, specifically pointing to his personal win-loss rate with the team. Jones' impact on the field is unquestionable, but missing 17 games last season and facing a six-game suspension this year have not helped his cause for a new big money contract.

The Revs signed midfielder Xavier Kouassi to a Designated Player pre-contract only to have him suffer an ACL tear with FC Sion. Yesterday New England acquired Gershon Koffie from the Vancouver Whitecaps in a trade for allocation money and TAM.

Jones and Lee Nguyen featured for the United States in two friendlies against Iceland and Canada, with Jones starting at centerback in the second game.

Regardless of your opinion of Jones or his public negotiating tactics, the Revolution continue their preseason schedule at the Desert Diamond Cup in Arizona starting next week. We'll see if the Revs and Jones can come to an agreement to have him available to possibly play in those games.
