The Boston Breakers have waived forward Elise Krieghoff, they announced in a press release today.
Krieghoff started with the senior Breakers squad as a non-roster invitee in preseason in 2016. She was one of eight and the only one to make it to an actual contract with the team.
Krieghoff played in six games for just 143 minutes, managing one goal in a game against the Houston Dash.
Krieghoff was a physically sturdy forward who could be counted on to insert a little energy in the forward line and also an example of someone who played their way onto an NWSL squad, providing a rare but viable pathway.
The Breakers are currently in the middle of a serious roster overhaul that has already seen the signing of multiple international players and the departure of Katie Schoepfer, Kristie Mewis, and Kassey Kallman. Head coach Matt Beard has said there are more moves to come.
