MLS legend says Robbie Keane is the best DP in league history

Matt Reis praised Robbie Keane after hearing that he's leaving the LA Galaxy.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Matt Reis is one of the best, if not the best, goalkeepers in MLS history, so any compliment he offers should be taken seriously. With this in mind, we should fully consider the proposal that Robbie Keane is the greatest Designated Player in league history.

Hours after news surfaced that Keane would be leaving the LA Galaxy, the New England Revolution legend and current Galaxy goalkeeping coach offered his thoughts.

Reis certainly has a good argument, as Keane spent six seasons with the Galaxy, collecting 83 goals and 25 assists in 119 regular-season appearances. During his stay, the Galaxy won three championships, including one in 2014 when they beat the Revs. The Irish international was named MVP that night after scoring the game-winning goal in the 111st minute.

So, what do you think? Is Keane the best DP of all time? Let us know in the comments section below.
