The Boston Breakers have signed 26-year-old Swedish international Louise Schillgard née Fors.

Schillgard is an attacking midfielder who will join fellow traded players Sinead Farrelly, McCall Zerboni, and Angela Salem in the midfield in what is shaping up to be quite a rebuild for the Breakers. Schillgard was also a player at Liverpool in the FA WSL under head coach Matt Beard and helped them win a league title in 2013.

Schillgard has also played for the Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia's W-League and several teams in Sweden's Damallsvenskan. She actually retired in 2014, citing a desire to be closer to her husband and family members who were in ill health, but left the door open for her return to soccer.

It looks like Schillgard has stepped through that door once again, convinced by Beard to try her hand in NWSL.

Beard praised Schillgard, saying that "She can score and create goals." Schillgard will undoubtedly attempt to take some of the scoring burden off Kristie Mewis this season.

While you're waiting for the season to start, you can see Schillgard score a nice goal for Liverpool off the inside post at 0:52 below.
