The US men's national team are back together for the first time since their disappointing showing in this summer's Gold Cup. On Friday they will face Peru in the first of two September friendlies ahead of their Confederations Cup playoff against Mexico.
All eyes will be on Jurgen Klinsmann, whose experimenting hasn't garnered much success. Interestingly, the German gaffer has called up several veterans who haven't been in the picture recently, including Tim Howard, Matt Besler, and Geoff Cameron.
Among those returning to the USMNT is New England Revolution midfielder Jermaine Jones. Jones has recently recovered from a bilateral sports hernia injury and is excited to once against represent his country. The Designated Player has featured in three Revs games since his surgery, so it will be interesting to see how he's used by Klinsmann.
