For the third straight week, Diego Fagundez has been nominated for MLSSoccer.com's Goal of the Week.
On Sunday, Fagundez played 90 minutes against Toronto FC. A pest throughout the night, the New England Revolution midfielder made his greatest impact in the 39th minute when he hit a one-time shot past goalkeeper Chris Konopka. Lee Nguyen was credited with the assist.
Despite being frequently nominated, Fagundez has only captured the Goal of the Week award once in 2015. He received the weekly accolade for his strike against the Chicago Fire in week 15.
Fagundez will face stern competition in week 28 with David Accam, Tesho Akindele, Obafemi Martins, and Kristian Nemeth also being nominated. Martins' goal is the early favorite as the striker showcased some serious flexibility to get the ball into the back of the net. It's worth noting that Seattle Sounders supporters turnout in large numbers to support their players.
