Tom Durkin is no longer head coach of the Boston Breakers.

After two seasons, during which he compiled a 10-29-5 record, Durkin has stepped down. He will still coach within the Breakers Academy system.

"We would like to thank Tom for his hard work and commitment over the last two years while he served as head coach," Boston Breakers general manager Lee Billiard said in a press release.

Durkin's tenure as head coach saw the Breakers finish eighth out of nine teams in 2014 and dead last in 2015. This season, the Breakers did not win a single away game and won just four games at home for a final record of 4-13-3 and the worst goal differential in the league at -21.

"An immediate search for a new head coach has started," Billiard said "It is important we get this right as we have great ambitions in the coming years."
