Diego Fagundez nominated for Goal of the Week

Go, Diego, go.

Derik Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

On Saturday Diego Fagundez became the youngest player to score 25 MLS goals and on Monday he was nominated for MLS Goal of the Week. Not bad for the 20-year-old.

The nominated goal came in the 51st minute of this weekend's game against the Philadelphia Union. The Massachusetts native received the ball after Charlie Davies redirected a Chris Tierney throw-in. Fagundez took his space before firing a shot past goalkeeper Andre Blake. It was Fagundez's third tally of the season.

Fagundez faces stiff competition for Goal of the Week in the form of Kevin Doyle (Colorado Rapids), Andrew Jacobson (New York City FC), Patrick Nyarko (Chicago Fire), and Bradley Wright-Phillips (New York Red Bulls).

Those interested in supporting Fagundez can vote by clicking here. Voting will remain open until 11:59 pm PT on Thursday with the winner being announced on Friday.

Fagundez won the weekly accolade once this season as he was honored for his side volley against the Fire in week 15.
