Chris Tierney Named as the Best Left Back this Season

Chris Tierney named to Goal.com's mid-season Best XI.

The New England Revolution aren't currently on a good run of form (to say the least), but the team does have good players. Case in point: Chris Tierney has been named as the best left back in MLS by Goal.com's Ives Galarcep.

With the season halfway over, Galarcep took on the daunting task of listing the league's best players. Among Giovinco, Fabian Castillo, and Bill Hamid was Tierney, the sole Revs inclusion.

Galarcep states that the Massachusetts native has "established himself as a consistent contributor" that is "one of the league's most dynamic threats." He notes that while Robbie Rogers and DaMarcus Beasley have been good this year, it's Tierney who has shined through.

It's nice to see Tierney, now in his eighth year as a professional, get some recognition as he's long been one of the most underrated players in MLS. Tierney is a steady player who's undeniably deadly on set pieces. A steady left back is hard to come by in MLS but the Revs have certainly found one.
