When he's on, he's on.
Diego Fagundez's 90-minute performance against New York City FC has earned him a place on MLSSoccer.com's Team of the Week. The New England Revolution midfielder looked sensational on Saturday night, contributing two shots, a pass completion rate of 83.3%, and of course the assist on Lee Nguyen's game-winning goal.
MLSoccer.com noted that Fagundez was a "thorn in the side of NYCFC" on a night that was "mistake-free." Fagundez also earned plaudits from his teammates and coach.
"I thought Diego was very good tonight," Heaps said in his post-game press conference. "I thought he brought the right mindset and it was an aggressive plan on our end because we want Diego to be in those attacking positions and what we ask of him is to really put that effort in defensively and tonight I thought that he was really good on both sides of the ball."
Fagundez was the only Revolution player to make the Team of the Week, though former player Benny Feilhaber was named to the bench. Click here to see the full Team of the Week.
