The past two months haven't been pleasant in New England but the negative feelings subsided, at least for a moment, when Lee Nguyen scored a beauty against New York City FC on Saturday night.
GOAL! Lee Nguyen. 1-0 #NERevs. Can't see it all here but passing / movement leading up to this goal was brilliant. pic.twitter.com/orTKvgxNB5

It was a goal that was all about the buildup as Diago Kobayashi played a clever backheel to Diego Fagundez, who then sent a seeking pass behind the NYC defense. Nguyen collected the ball and beat goalkeeper Josh Saunders to give the home side a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute.

The last time the New England Revolution scored before their opponent was on Jun. 24 against Columbus Crew SC. The Revs would later concede twice, losing the game 2-1.
Also worth noting is the fact that the Revs held a shutout past the 18th minute, a statement that didn't hold true in the last four games.
