The New England Revolution appear to have received a dose of luck, as New York City FC will be without the services of former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard when they come to Gillette Stadium on Saturday.

The Designated Player has yet to appear in a game for his new club, largely as a result of a nagging calf strain. While based in speculation, it is likely that NYCFC's head coach Jason Kreis did not want to risk Lampard exacerbating his injury.
On top of Lampard's absence, NYCFC is going to be without the services of two other big name players. Mix Diskerud is off with the U.S Men's National team in preparation of their Gold Cup quarterfinal match against Cuba, while Andrea Pirlo is not expected to make his debut this weekend either.
With that in mind, Kreis will only have the services of one star player: David Villa. The former Spanish international has scored 10 goals and registered three assists in his 16 games played.
