Diego Fagundez Tops Neagle, Sounders to Win MLS Goal of the Week

Diego Fagundez took home the weekly award by a landslide.

After finishing an outstanding side volley against the Chicago Fire--a goal that ultimately stood up as the game-winner--Diego Fagundez earned MLS week 15 Goal of the Week honors.

Fagundez earned 56.85 percent of votes; Seattle Sounders forward Lamar Neagle trailed with 26.53 percent. In previous weeks, Sounders fans have shown up in bunches to support their club, helping the Sounders win four Goal of the Week awards in 2015. But this time around, Fagundez's volley took home the prize, besting Neagle's long-range finish.

The recognition serves as the first of Fagundez's career--and the first of the Revs' season. Chis Tierney earned a nomination in Week 8, though former Revolution midfielder Benny Feilhaber took home the award.
