The New England Revolution's emphasis on domestics will be an asset to them on Saturday as several Chicago Fire players will be away on international duty.
The official MLS preview names three players that are set to miss the Eastern Conference clash: David Accam (Ghana), Shuan Maloney (Scotland), and Joevin Jones (Trinidad and Tobago). All three are regular starters, making their absences quite significant.
Additionally, the Fire are expected to be without Patrick Nyarko, who is listed as out with a torn ACL and MCL sprain.
On the flip side, the international window won't affect the Revs. Juan Agudelo, who started midweek for the US National Team against Germany, has rejoined his club team and is expected to be available this weekend.
The injury front is a bit more troubling for the Revs as Darrius Barnes (left knee surgery) and Jermaine Jones (left groin strain) are listed as out. Both individuals missed last weekend's trip to Portland.
