The New England Revolution might have played two games in week 12, but Andrew Farrell only needed one to make MLSSoccer.com's Team of the Week.
After sitting out for the New England Revolution's midweek clash against Sporting Kansas City, Farrell resumed his role as center back alongside Jose Goncalves against D.C. United. The 23-year-old looked fresh, contributing a shift that he claimed was a "180 minute performance in 90 minutes." Farrell only made one misstep the entire night, which unfortunately resulted in the game-tying goal.
Regardless, Farrell earned high praise from his head coach after the game.
"He’s a gamer," Jay Heaps said of Farrell. "Every time he steps on the field you know he’s going to give everything he has, it could be a five v two or full 11 on 11--he’s going to put it all out there."
Farrell finished the D.C. game with four tackles, 51 touches, and a passing completion of 73%, according to WhoScored.com. He was named as the Santander Man of the Match after the game.
