Former New England Revolution forward Geoffrey Castillion has already made an impact with his new club as he helped FC Universitatea Cluj collect their first win of 2015 on Monday.
Castillion started the game against Rapid Bucureşti but waited until the 56th minute to make his big contribution. When the opposing goalkeeper proved unable to handle an incoming cross, Castillion was there to pounce. The goal, which was the only one of the night, can be seen one minute into the video below.
Castillion signed with the Revolution on Aug. 25, 2014. Expectations were high in regards to the former Ajax player with Castillion himself promising to help improve both the team and league. These dreams were unfilled as the striker only made one appearance before being traded to the Colorado Rapids ahead of the Expansion Draft. Castillion would be waived soon after, later reappearing in Romania.
Fans of FC Universitatea Cluj will hope that Castillion has more goals to offer as team currently sits in 14th place in the Romanian First Division table.
