Darrius Barnes, who has appeared in five of the New England Revolution's games this season, will miss the next six months after undergoing left knee surgery. The versatile defender is only Revolution player listed as out on the most recent injury report. With Barnes unavailable, the right back spot will likely be filled by Kevin Alston or London Woodberry.
There are two other Revolution names on the injury report as Jose Goncalves (L Calf Strain) and Daigo Kobayashi (L Hamstring Strain) are both listed as questionable. Goncalves missed last weekend's game against the Philadelphia Union while Kobayashi has been absent for three straight.
One player completely off the list is Chris Tierney, who came off the bench last weekend.
Real Salt Lake are dealing with their own set of issues as several key contributors will be unavailable due to injuries, suspensions, and international call-ups. Joao Plata (L broken foot) and Chris Schuler (R meniscus) are out while Javier Morales (L hamstring), Sabastian Jamie (R tibia), and Boyd Okwuonu (shoulder) are questionable. Meanwhile, Okwuonu, Jordan Allen, Justen Glad, and Sebastian Soucedo (who is suspended regardless) are away on international duty. Jamison Olave will be unavailable as he faces a one-game suspension.
