RSL will be Without Starting Centerbacks, More against Revolution

Real Salt Lake will be missing some of their big names when they come to Foxborough this weekend to face the New England Revolution.

A mixture of injuries, suspensions, and international call-ups will leave Real Salt Lake without some key components this weekend, including starting centerbacks Chris Schuler and Jamison Olave.

News broke on Monday that Schuler will miss 4-6 weeks to recover from a torn meniscus. The defender, who started the first four games of the season, has already undergone surgery.

The Schuler prognosis is worsened by the fact that Olave, his frequent partner, will be forced to miss this weekend's game after earning a red card against the Vancouver Whitecaps. Rookie Sebastian Saucedo saw red in the same game, meaning that he will also be unavailable to play against the New England Revolution.

Additionally, Jordan Allen, Luis Gil, and Boyd Okwuonu will be away with US youth international teams. Allen has played in all six of RSL's games this year while Gil has missed one and Okwuonu is sill waiting to make his MLS debut.

The recent happenings, coupled with a long-term injury to Joao Plata, is sure to give head coach Jeff Caesar headaches. The statuses of Jamie Sebastian and Javier Morales are also unknown as both players missed last weekend's game. Sebastian was spotted at practice recently while Morales wasn't.
