After playing 45 minutes against Columbus Crew SC last weekend, midfielder Jermaine Jones is no longer listed on the injury report for the New England Revolution. Jones underwent sports hernia surgery in the off season and missed the first five games of 2015. Last weekend was a critical step as the US international looks to return to full fitness.
While the Jones news is positive, there are three Revolution players listed as questionable. The statuses of Darrius Barnes (left knee sprain), Chris Tierney (left ankle sprain), and Daigo Kobayashi (right hamstring strain) are uncertain ahead of Sunday's nationally broadcasted game.
The Philadelphia Union are facing their own set of injury concerns as Eric Bird (hernia repair recovery) is out, while Maurice Edu (right hamstring strain), Fabinho (right heel contusion/plantar fascilitis), Raymond Lee (left quad strain), and Vincent Nogueria are categorized as questionable. It's worth noting that Philadelphia played New York City FC to a 1-1 draw on Thursday.
