For the fourth straight year, the New England Revolution will be immortalizing some of their most popular players by creating bobbleheads in their image. First on the docket is Designated Player Jermaine Jones, whose collectible will be given away in a limited quantity on Saturday, May 2nd when the Revs face the New York Red Bulls.
The bobblehead, which Jones says is the "first time I got something like that," features the player in the Revolution's primary jersey lifting one fist. Other details include Jones' facial hair and dreads. Unfortunately there is no snow fro option.
Jones joins a long list of current and former players that have received their own bobblehead, including Kevin Alston, Diego Fagundez, and Matt Reis. The bobbleheads have been a popular giveaway since being introduced in 2012.
This year three players will earn the honor, though Jones is the only one that has been announced thus far. The other bobblehead promotions are set to take place on July 18 when New York City FC visit and August 15 when the Houston Dynamo are in town.
