Jose Goncalves, Lee Nguyen, and Jermaine Jones are among the top players in MLS, according to Goal.com.
After compiling votes from Goal USA staff, Goncalves was ranked at 46th, Nguyen 13th, and Jones 9th. It's a fair haul for the New England Revolution, who finished second in the MLS Cup title race last year.
In his first season in the league, Goncalves was recognized as the 2013 MLS Defender of the Year. The Portuguese player, who assumed the captaincy during the early stages of 2013, endured some struggles at the beginning of his second campaign, but rebounded to become a key contributor in the Revolution's bid for MLS Cup.
Nguyen's best season came in 2014 when he collected 18 goals, the most of any pure midfielder in MLS history. Nguyen's play caught the eye for US Men's National Team coach Jurgen Klinsmann, who gave the midfielder his first cap in seven years.
Although Jones has only been in MLS for a few months, his quality is undeniable. The team amassed a record of 11-2-2 with the US international on the field, which is a positive sign of what a full MLS season will bring.
A trio of former Revs are also on the list with Michael Parkhurst listed at 37, Benny Feilhaber at 32, and Clint Dempsey at 6.
New York Ctiy FC striker David Villa grabbed the top spot.
