After bagging a brace against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, New England Revolution midfielder Kelyn Rowe made his way onto MLS' Team of the Week for Week 4 of the MLS season.
His first goal mixed fortune with skill, as he struck the ball from the right side of the 18-yard-box and a deflection carried it past David Binhgam. Rowe's second goal was scored when he slammed home from close range Darrius Barnes' knock-down header that was spurned by fabulous service from defender Chris Tierney.
Both goals were scored in the game's first half and Rowe's performance was electric throughout the match's entirety. He could have nabbed another goal or two if it were not some unselfish play, strong defensive interventions from San Jose, and strong saves from Bingham. Early signs of Rowe breaking out this season seem to be brewing and his misfirings appear to be a thing of the past.
