USMNT Roster Named, No Revolution Players Included

US National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann named his 23-man roster on Sunday and no New England Revolution players were included

US National Team coach Jurgen Klinsmann named his 23-man roster on Sunday ahead of friendlies against Denmark and Switzerland. No players from the New England Revolution, including recent invitees Jermaine Jones and Lee Nguyen, will be participating.

The U.S. team will travel to Europe to play Denmark on March 25 in Aarhus before facing Switzerland in Zurich on March 31. With both games being played overseas and the MLS season just starting, Klinsmann's roster is heavily reliant on Americans playing abroad. Nick Rimando, Brek Shea, Michael Bradley, Gyasi Zardes, Jozy Altidore, and Clint Dempsey are the only MLSers named to the roster. Additionally, Miguel Ibarra of Minnesota United FC has been extended an invitation.

From a Revolution perspective, it's worth noting that Jones and Nguyen have not been requested. However, both omissions make sense. Despite being a stalwart of the Klinsmann era, Jones is still recovering from sports hernia surgery and is due to arrive in New England soon. Meanwhile, Nguyen has only recently overcome an injury of his own and is now settling into the MLS season. Both players will likely receive call ups in the future.

Here is a full list of Klinsmann's roster:

GOALKEEPERS (3): Cody Cropper (Southampton), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake), William Yarbrough (Club Leon)

DEFENDERS (8): Ventura Alvarado (Club America), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Timmy Chandler (Eintracht Frankfurt), Greg Garza (Club Tijuana), Michael Orozco (Puebla), Tim Ream (Bolton Wanderers), Brek Shea (Orlando City SC), DeAndre Yedlin (Tottenham Hotspur)

MIDFIELDERS (8): Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Julian Green (Hamburg), Miguel Ibarra (Minnesota United FC), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Alfredo Morales (Ingolstadt), Danny Williams (Reading), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy)
