If all goes well, Jerry Bengtson will soon be making a return to Gillette Stadium with the Honduras National Team.
Bengtson, who is currently on loan to Belgrano of Argentina from the New England Revolution, has been called up by Honduras for a two-game playoff against French Guiana to determine who will participate in Group A in this summer's Gold Cup. The two teams face each other on March 25 and 29.
Honduras, who participated in last summer's World Cup, are the favorites to win the series. If they do, they would join the USA and Haiti in Group A. Group A will play matches in Frisco, TX on July 7, Foxboro, MA on July 10, and Kansas City, KS on July 13. The US National Team is scheduled to face either Honduras or French Guiana on July 7.
Bengtson, who amassed four goals in 36 appearances for the Revs, hasn't found much luck in Argentina. The lanky striker has only recorded one goal since beginning his loan on July 25, 2014. The loan is scheduled to expire on June 30.
