One week after being undone by the Seattle Sounders 3-0, the New England Revolution return to the pitch, this time facing New York City FC at Yankee Stadium. The game will be carried by ESPN 2 with kickoff set for 5 pm EST.
For the Revs, who only produced one shot on target last weekend while conceding three goals, Sunday is all about rebounding. Offensively, the return of Lee Nguyen should be the creative spark that the team needs. Defensively, the Revolution will hope that another week of practice will help Jose Goncalves and Andrew Farrell develop the chemistry needed to deal with Mix Diskerud and David Villa.
NYC FC will be looking to put on a show this Sunday as they are playing their inaugural home game. The club will have the entirety of Yankee Stadium open, a move that should create a daunting atmosphere. It's worth noting that NYC employs two former Revolution players in Patrick Mullins and Tony Taylor. Neither individual got minutes last weekend, but you'd imagine that they're chomping at the bit to face their former team.
