Tyler Rudy, an un-drafted player who has been in the New England Revolution's preseason camp, announced yesterday afternoon that he has signed a contract with the Revs.
Ecstatic to announce that I have signed my first professional contract with the @NERevolution! Dreams do come true. #NERevs #teamUA

The former Georgetown University midfielder is the only rookie on the Revs' roster as of now. He is a central-midfielder by trade and was a steady four-year presence in the center of the park for the Hoyas. Coming out of the same program that Steve Neumann plied his trade at in college, Rudy can be expected to be tidy on the ball, hard-working, and tactically disciplined.
Rudy will likely not see playing time right off the bat, but has plenty of veteran presences ahead of him that he can learn from. Jermaine Jones, Andy Dorman, Daigo Kobayashi, Lee Nguyen, Scott Caldwell, and Neumann will surely help the rookie adjust to life in MLS, as well as Jay Heaps' system.
An official announcement from the Revs has yet to come, but the deal can be considered complete, especially in light of the trend of players taking to Twitter to announce news.
