Four days after playing 45 minutes for Stabaek IF, A.J. Soares donned the Viking FK colors in a 2-0 preseason loss to Vålerenga.
Soares started for the Dark Blues on Sunday, playing the first half before making way for Björn Daniel Sverrisson. The only two goals of the game were tallied while Soares was on the field as Elias March Omarsson scored in the 13th minute and Ghayas Zahid added another in the 42nd.
While he didn't get on the score sheet like he did while with Stabaek, Soares played a fine game, neutralizing several long-ball attempts from the opposition. The 26-year-old showcased his tackling ability late in the first half when he made a crucial lunge to intercept a Vålerenga cross.
