Zachary Herivaux, Sean Okoli, and Donnie Smith will don New England Revolution blue this year, but for a short time they were wearing the black and green of Sporting CP. That's because the trio trained in Portugal from Nov. 29 until Dec. 18. Before returning home, Sporting snapped a shot of the youngsters giving the international sign of approval: a thumbs up.
Hey, @NERevolution! The boys say hi! It was great having them over here. pic.twitter.com/aSBh4YzFtY

If that wasn't enough, Okoli expressed his gratitude via Twitter. The 22-year-old forward is hopeful that the training stint will help him become a major contributor in 2016.

Smith is also looking to make a greater impact in the new year. The midfielder/defender apparently got some added motivation on the flight back home.

Herivaux, Okoli, Smith, and the rest of the Revolution will regather on Friday, Jan. 22 when preseason camp opens.
