We didn't see a lot of Sean Okoli this season (in fact he only played 46 minutes), but the forward is looking to make an impact in 2016. The first step in this process? A trip to Portugal to train with New England Revolution partner Sporting CP.
Okoli will join Donnie Smith and Zachary Herivaux for a three-week training stint in Lisbon. This will give all three youngsters the opportunity to stay fresh in the off-season while also experiencing a different style of play.
Soon after the trip was announced, Okoli took to Twitter to express his excitement.
Very honored and excited to train with @SportingCP_en ! Looking forward to continuing my development and working with such a great club!

Thank you @NERevolution for making this happen. I'm planning on making an impact with this team next year so this is trip is perfect for me.

The Tweets are a sign that Okoli has a positive mindset about the future. The transition to becoming a professional hasn't exactly been smooth for the 22-year-old, who signed as a Seattle Homegrown in 2014. Regardless, it appears that he's keeping his head straight.
