Once primed for a first-round bye, the Revolution have limped through the final stages of the season, dropping all the way to sixth in the Eastern Conference standings. To salvage its 2015 campaign, the club has some work to do—starting on Sunday, when the Revs visit Yankee Stadium for a showdown with NYCFC.

What's next for the Revs? We break down the playoff picture—and offer four playoff scenarios—heading into the final match of the season.

The Revs Can Clinch a Playoff Spot...

With a win or draw against NYCFC on Sunday. If the club loses to NYCFC, it can also clinch a playoff spot with an Orlando City draw or loss against Philadelphia (Sunday). If the Revs lose and Orlando City wins, the Revs can still clinch a playoff spot, as a long as Orlando City fails to make up a -8 goal differential.

With just four points separating the 6th-seed Revolution and 2nd-seed D.C. United, the Eastern Conference standings are sure to look a bit different come Monday morning. Here are four potential knockout-round scenarios for the Revs:

Method: Revs defeat NYCFC / Toronto defeats Montreal / D.C. United defeats Columbus (Revs win goal-differential tiebreaker with Columbus)

Method: Revs defeat NYCFC / Montreal defeats Toronto / D.C. United draws with Columbus (Montreal wins "total wins" tiebreaker with Columbus)

3. Revs Visit Toronto

Method: Revs draw NYCFC / Toronto defeats Montreal / Columbus defeats D.C. United (Montreal wins "total wins" tiebreaker with Revs)

4. Revs Visit D.C. United

Method: NYCFC defeats Revs / Montreal draws with Toronto / Columbus defeats D.C. United
