With both the NWSL and WPSL seasons on the horizon for Tom Durkin and the Breakers pro, academy and reserve clubs, the team has elected to hold an open tryout on Saturday, Feb. 21. Breakers hopefuls will visit Forekicks sports complex in Taunton, Mass. for the three-hour session, which take place from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
Throughout the 2014 season, the Breakers battled with the expansion-side Houston Dash at the bottom of the table, ultimately wrestling their way into an eight-place finish. The club undoubtedly regressed following a middle-of-the-pack finish in 2013, though Durkin and GM Lee Billiard made great strides by developing Reserve and College Academy squads, both of which compete in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL).
During February's open tryout, Durkin and Billiard will identify and select potential talent for each of the organization's three clubs.
