2015 Revolution Transfer Watch: ESPN Sources Say Agudelo Has Signed with MLS, Revolution

Jeff Carlisle says New England will soon have more swag than it did yesterday.

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

ESPN FC's Jeffery Carlisle has sources that say Juan Agudelo has signed with MLS and the New England Revolution.

As per previous reports, this would end a long saga dating from the end of 2013 for Agudelo, as the young striker tried unsuccessfully to gain a work permit and play for Stoke City in England. A loan spell in the Netherlands with FC Utrecht ended earlier in 2014 and Agudelo has been without a club ever since. The Revolution retained his rights by offering him a contract at the end of 2013.

Obviously, we're waiting for official word from MLS and the Revs about the signing but we're certainly going to encourage stuff like this:

Agudelo would certainly shore up the attacking end of the roster that took a hit when Patrick Mullins and Tony Taylor were selected by NYCFC in the Expansion Draft.

Agudelo was acquired in 2013 trade with Chivas USA for allocation money and he went on to score seven goals with one assist in 14 games with the Revs despite missing several games due to injury.
