Heldon was previously with Maritimo from 2010 to 2014 before being transferred to Sporting CP on January 31, 2014. The move hasn't gone well for Heldon as he's only played 63 minutes in two appearances during the 2014/15 season.
Rumors surfaced last week that relocation would be imminent for Heldon with the Revolution being a possible destination. The Revs have expressed interest in having player exchanges with Sporting CP, with whom they entered into partnership with in October 2014.
In an interview with TBM, CBF licensed agent Paulo Teixeira, who helped broker the deal that brought Heldon to Sporting, claimed that a loan stateside would be a "win-win situation." Teixeira pointed out that New England has a large Cape Verdean community, who endear Heldon because of his performances for the national team.
It's important to note that reports that link Heldon with Maritimo are currently unconfirmed.
